Dr. Igal Silber

Laguna Food Pantry lost a cherished member of its Board of Directors on December 28, 2021.  Dr. Igal Silber joined the Laguna Food Pantry Board of Directors in 2016.

Dr. Silber, a Laguna Beach resident for 44 years, was an active volunteer, advisor, and supporter of Laguna Food Pantry’s purpose which is providing a nutritious food source along with an opportunity for improvement in the lives of shoppers, volunteers, and the greater community.

​

With a philanthropic heart, Dr. Silber guided the organization in building a strong Board of Directors as Chair of the Nominating Committee.   In addition to helping to provide nutritious food for shoppers, the Silbers personally arranged for children’s books to be offered to families of young children nourishing the minds of the children whose families depend upon help from Laguna Food Pantry to make ends meet.

Dr. Silber left an indelible mark on everyone he met.  His intellect, passion for life, and concern for his fellow human beings, particularly those less fortunate, will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
